Share Your Memories with Students

slington Arts & Media School, Turle Road N4 3LS is looking for senior citizens to come into school and share memories of Islington in the past. The students are keen to hear about how Islington has changed over the years and particularly your views on immigration, community spirit and any stories about the Blitz!

Each session will be followed by a free 2-course lunch!
Older participants who came to the first session said 'I enjoyed it enormously and was pleasantly surprised by how polite and interested the students were, I will definitely come back again!'.

Grow Your Own Food!

Would you like to grow your own food? Sotheby Mews can offer the chance to get digging! Volunteers of all ages are required to join their Food-Growing and Allotment project. No experience is required – just an active interest in gardening.
When: Work will get started the week beginning 22 February 2010

Do you remember anyone who was a Suffragette? Do you have, or know someone who has, experience of the struggle for a vote, here or abroad? Did you grow up or live abroad? Do you have views on the changes in civil or human rights that you have seen in your life-time, and how you feel this country compares with others.
If you would be happy to talk about any of these issues then please let Alberta know – on 020 7281 6018. An organization would love to talk to you, and use your stories as a basis for a drama project for young people in Islington schools.

Older Volunteers required

Richard Cloudesley School is looking for a number of older volunteers to take part in a number of creative projects with the children. Richard Cloudsley School is a school for children with special needs and is located on Golden Lane, off Old St in EC1Y.
